As part of the continual development of the Derbyshire Netball website we are asking Clubs to add their details to the page with maybe a little information about themselves. The website will enable Clubs to find out “what’s going on” in Derbyshire including information on courses, events, CAPS, umpiring, coaching, player development and so much more. It will also enable new players coming to the County to see what’s happening in their area and help them find teams to join. Website Competition Winner!

Derbyshire Netball Association recently ran a competition on their website to win two match netballs and the lucky winner was Katie Edwards from Pennine Netball Club. Katie’s decision to enter the competition was based on her favourite netball saying of ‘You miss 100% of the shots you do not take’. Katie went on to say ‘I was so excited when I got the call to say I had won and will be a nice little extra resource for our club. The competition was based on how many netballs were pictured in two previous editions of Netball Natters so at the same time as counting I was reading about all the news and events that were happening across Derbyshire’

Well done Katie and congratulations from Derbyshire Netball Association.

The DERBY COLLEGE NETBALL ACADEMY pROGRAMME gives aspiring young student netballers the opportunity to develop their netball skills whilst studying to achieve academic qualifications in sport to enhance their career opportunities.

Versatility Tournament

Derbyshire County Academy & Satellite squads celebrated the 2013-14 programme with a “Onesie” versatility tournament on Saturday 3 May at Swanwick Hall School.

This year we supported the charity “All4one”. The President of Derbyshire Netball, Liz Broomhead, is involved with this charity and you can see a video giving some information on the fantastic work she and others are doing - view on You Tube at: http://youtube/pVzB1P20soI

The Imbumba Foundation and the All4One project provides netball activity to children and young people in the rural province of Mpumalanga in South Africa. The aim is to use netball as a magnet to enable and encourage more local children and young people to access HIV/Aids education and training and ultimately save lives.

The sun shone over 52 players and 7 Teams, reflecting the top 7 netball countries, played a versatility tournament supported by their coaching team and parents. The winners were “Jamaica” and just over £300 was raised for All4One.

The athletes were awarded their Certificates and badges. 100% attendance and special awards went to:
