Our app is aimed at all ages male and female.It gives people ideas on presents and how to make them for little or no

money.People would use this app when they're in a rush for presents or cant

afford to buy one. People will use this app at home because they will have the equipment

WHO? WHAT? WHERE? WHEN?

The problem people encounter is, having no time to get

presents or not having a lot of money. We can see this as a problem because I conducted user research and I looked at

the reviews on other DIY apps. Other people would say it was a good app.

“Its my mum's birthday, my little sister and I have no money but want to do something cool for my mom, like make her

something. Any ideas?” Through research on yahoo answers, many people want gift

ideas that are easily accessible in minutes.

My team A and G production's are developing an app to help people who cant afford presents for their friends or family and our app will show you some ideas how to make a gift

instead for less money.

Through the interview research I have conducted I could see that many people had this problem and feel that a app such as mine will

help the situation for example: my mum wanted to make a bird feeder and I remembered that there was an idea on my app so I went on app

shed and went on my app and it told me how to make one cheaper. Also Deniz a pupil in year 9 told me that it was his dads birthday at the

weekend and he looked online but he couldn’t find anything and it took a long time so he said to have an app will be very useful.

When researching other competitors I found a few other apps that are similar for example: ‘DIY Christmas presents’ which was launched

on December 6 2013, also ‘DIY gift ideas’ which was found on the Google play store. When comparing my idea to the other apps on the

market my app will fulfil the problem better because it has a rating section so people can see straight away what the good ideas are.

The core feature of our app is the links to the website ideas, which enables the user to quickly find what they are looking for as they are also in different categories. However it also has ratings where users

can rate each gift and review it as well as make comments, video tutorials allow the user to research the product and a calendar that

allows you to plan when you have to buy presents.

The app can display the content either as a video file or on a webpage.

In terms of feasibilty the app should be very achievable. In addition to

the content we will add, users will also be able to make suggestions and upload videos. We will need to set up a sensible way of managing the content, making sure that we review all user uploads before they

are made public. The app does not rely heavily on complex data structures and needs

only to access a video player and an internet connection to work fully.

Our app will make money of advertisements, people can pay us to put an add on the side of the screen. Also there will be a upgraded version

of the app for purchase.We surveyed the staff in our school (over 100). The majority (over80%)

have said that they would download our app is it were to be developed.

We will put our app on other apps, also we can tell family members who work in large companies to spread the word.
