Cypress Mill Messenger - January 2008 Volume 8, Issue 1 Official Newsletter January 2008 Winners of Cypress Mill Christmas Lights It sure was difficult to choose five homes for the best display of lights. We decided not to put pictures in the newsletter after spending two evenings driving around looking at the lights and taking pictures. The beautiful colors of the lights just don’t show up in black and white. Thank you all for making Cypress Mill look so festive at the wonderful Holiday Season. The following five homes are the winners for December Christmas Lights. Cypress Mill Park II - Back section 14823 Mills Park Lane Cypress Mills Park II- Front section 14727 Harvest Chase Court Cypress Mill Estates - 18122 Mallard Estates Court Cypress Mill Place - 14518 Moss Valley Drive Cypress Mill Park I - 18110 Water Mill Drive Congratulations everyone Cypress Mill Breakfast with Santa 2007 We had a great turnout for our Christmas Party. Thanks to all the children for decorating our live Christmas tree. It looks beautiful. Thank you also, to the volunteers that made the party a success. Santa is very busy this time of year. Besides stopping to see children before Christmas, he is in constant contact with his elves that are making the toys. Next year we hope Santa can come a little later in the morning and have breakfast with us. Santa did say that maybe Mrs. Claus will come with him to see us. HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM THE HOA BOARD CHRISTMAS PARTY A great big thank you to Tina Howard for organizing our Christmas party and to all of the volunteers who worked; Vickie and Austin Jalowski, Joyce, Jamie, Mrs. Strickland, our senior’s group, the Keenagers and to our garden club, the Petal Pushers who asked that the HOA plant a living tree and having the children of the neighborhood make decorations for the tree. Thank you all. What a big impact all these volunteers have made on our community -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS The Cypress Mills garden club, the Petal Pushers, did an excellent job of decorating our neighborhood for the holidays. Many calls have been received saying how beautiful the neighborhood was decorated. The Petal Pushers took our old decorations and made them look for new again. Our thanks to Twyla Cauthen, Gail Norris, Dena Loughlin, Paula Lilienthal, Barbara Remy,Deb Jackson, Theresa Brutka ,Michael Jernigan and Carolyn Hoffmann, and to any others that I have missed for putting together the decorations. Also, to Dwayne Jernigan, for his help in climbing ladders and putting decorations and lights in high places and to drilling the holes in our concrete monuments to secure the decorations. The ladies couldn’t have done it without him. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HOA DUES Our HOA dues for the coming year have been mailed and you should have your statement now. If you have not received your statement please contact Principal Management Group at 713-329- 7138. If dues are not paid in full by January 31, 2008, late fees will begin to accrue so please pay your dues early. Remember, without our HOA dues we cannot pay our bills for street lights, landscaping, security, and many other things it takes to keep a neighborhood running. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EASTER PARTY Yes, it is time to start thinking about the Easter Party. Parties of this size require much planning. We need volunteer/volunteers who can organize an egg hunt. Last year the weather was bad and we were unable to do the egg hunt. If you are interested, please contact Shirley Whitley at [email protected]t as soon as possible. Thanks. (Continued on Page 5)
