ABSTRACTPasteffortstoexpandcybersecurityworkforcepipelinehavefocusedheavilyonadultlearners.ThisprojectdemonstratesthatthepipelinecanbeextendedtoreachundertargetedpopulaDonssuchasearlylearners.Thisapproachwillintroducemorepeopletocybersecurityasacareerchoice,buildtheirconfidenceinskills,andincreasecybersecurityawarenesstobuildageneralpopulaDonbe]erpreparedtoself-defend.Theposterprovidesanoverviewofasuccessfulprojectandhighlightsexamplesofthework,metrics,successmeasurements,andsamplesofstudentcybersecurityproducts.ProjectslikethisprovideimportantstepstoimplemenDnganeffecDveandcomprehensivecybersecurityeducaDonprogramforgradesK-12.

• MaximizingthepipelinemeansaddinginiDaDvesforyoungerlearnersandwithinformalizedschoolcurriculum.SuccessfulmodelsneedtobeidenDfiedinordertomoveforward.
• Inthisproject,afirstgradeclassof12studentswasintroducedtobothprogrammingandcorecybersecurityconcepts.Avarietyofmethodswasappliedtodeepenunderstanding(game-basedlearning,videosandmulDmedia,modeling,project-basedlearning,differenDaDon).StudentsillustratedcorecybersecurityconceptsbycodinganimaDonsusingScratch,Jr.
CONCLUSIONWhenprovidedwithwell-constructedlessonsthataresoundbothpedagogicallyandincontent,earlylearnerscangraspcorecybersecurityconcepts.ProjectslikethissupportthecurriculumdevelopmentworkwhichmusttakeplaceinordertoformalizeandimplementaK-12cybersecurityeducaDonprogram.
