The control system also automatically selects the right audio and video inputs. The family’s collection of over 300 DVDs and Blu-ray

“Cyberhomes took time to understand how we lived and what we wanted as a family, and came up with ideal suggestions. Our daughters have been elevated to celebrity status among their friends, for having a cinema room!”

We designed cabinets with acoustically transparent panels to house the front speakers and subwoofers. We also created a tilting mount for the front centre speaker, as we knew the homeowner planned to choose the seating after completion. This allowed us to adjust the speaker in relation to the distance to the seats, in order to optimise sound quality.

discs is stored on a Kaleidescape movie server, while Sky, Virgin TiVo and Apple TV boxes also provide video content.

Custom designCyberhomes introduced several clever features to optimise the cinematic experience—and importantly, to meet the homeowners’ preference for minimalist design.

Custom-built carpentry hides the screen from view when not in use. As it drops down, the screen slots into a frame that is concealed in a specially created section of the front wall. This gives the screen the necessary rigidity for crystal-clear visuals. The projector, which sits in a motorised projector lift in the ceiling, is also hidden from view when not in use.
