Cyber TM represents the family of Thulium:YAG laser manufactured by Quanta System dedicated to applications practiced in open, laparoscopic or endoscopic surgery to perform excision, resection, ablation, vaporization, coagulation and hemostasis of soft tissues.

Cyber TM laser system is used in various surgical fields, especially in Urology, Thoracic Surgery and Gynecology.

The unique characteristics of laser interaction with tissue at the wavelength of 2010nm, allow to ablate and vaporize tissue with simultaneous hemostasis and very high precision, without affecting the surrounding tissue of the target area. The minimized area of necrotic tissue along with a rapid and effective laser action, gives great advantages compared to conventional methods.

The surgical approach through Cyber TM is normally associated with decreased risk for the patient during surgery which is safer, more effective and with reduced operating time. The precise and well-defined ablation significantly decreases hospitalization time ensuring rapid recovery with low morbidity rate.

Surgery

The enucleation technique involves the “detachment” of the prostatic obstructive lobes by a mechanical action, obtained with the assistance of endoscopic instrument and using the laser to cut / ablate the resistant tissue components acting on any point of bleeding by a rapid laser hemostatic action. At the end of enucleation is necessary to use a Morcellator system to eliminate the lobe parts in the bladder.

ENUCLEATION (THuLEP)

This technique allows the enucleation of the prostate lobes thanks to the prevailing laser ablation, obtained by vaporization of tissue in front of the tip of the optical fiber.The use of this technique is to take advantage of reduction of irritative phenomena and gives advantages also in patients with coagulative problems. Consequently the vapo-enucleation procedure is necessary to act with a Morcellator system.

VAPO-ENUCLEATION (THuVEP)

The technique involves the reduction of blocking lobes into small pieces (removable endoscopically without the aid of a Morcellator) via laser resection.

VAPO-RESECTION (THuVARP)

This procedure involves the reduction of prostate lobes by laser vaporization of blocking tissue. Thanks to the characteristics of laser vaporization, with Thulium you can use either reusable fibers emitting frontally side firing optical fibers. Acting on the water component contained in the tissue, vaporization remains constant throughout the procedure, preserving the characteristics of low-depth coagulation (also using the 200W), a key factor for the reduction of disuria and other postoperative problems.

VAPORIZATION (THuVAP)

PRECISION: You will able to see what you are treating and observe the effect of your work in real time. Observable surgical effect - “what you see is what you get” - no unseen deep tissue effects occur.VERSATILITY: The ability to vaporize, resect or ablate tissue as needed. These features allow to choose surgical technique (enucleation, vaporization or vapo-resection) best suited to the size and morphology of the treated prostate and to the surgical approach to the surgeon.UNMATCHED SAFETY: By allowing the visualization of the treatment area and precise control over the delivery of the therapy, along with superior hemostasis, our lasers and fibers provide a high level of safety. With high water absorption, the results from our lasers reduce tha chance of inadvertent tissue damage.CLEAR SURGICAL FIELD: The consistent power delivery of the Cyber TM’s continuous wave mode creates even and clean vaporization or cutting effect which keeps the surgical field clear of bubbles, blood or debris that can impair the surgeon’s vision.USER FRIENDLINESS: The Cyber TM laser is easy to use with a short learning curve.
