NOVEMBER 2, 2011 DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE COMOX VALLEY COMOX VALLEY RECORD 3

You hold in your hands the Record’s third shot at photographically capturing one day in the life of the Comox Valley. This year, we loosed a dozen photographers — some Record staffers, some pros and some talented amateurs — throughout the region on Friday, Sept. 9. Here are many of the images they brought back. We again hope you enjoy looking for some of your favourite places and perhaps your favourite people.

Leslie Eaton, a Comox Valley Record production team member, mother, local performer, jazz choir singer, closet piano player and community volunteer, likes to

go out and take photos as a hobby when she has downtime.

Karen Goldby, the newest part of the Comox Valley Record team, is a mother and an amateur photography who loves taking pictures.

Lisa GrahamLisa’s love for photography sparked while scuba diving in Cozumel. Much of her body of work involves water in some manner. Above or below, she is known for her innovative style. Lisa was born

in Calgary. She enjoys adventure travel and lives in Comox with her husband Brad and a teenage macaw.

Erin Haluschakis a photographer for the Comox Valley Record. She has a professional photography degree from North Island College and enjoys all aspects of photojournalism,

architecture and landscape photography.

Linden Loughridgeis local photographer specializing in unique photo sessions. Her mission is to create fun and vibrant memories for her clients.

Ron Pogue began his photographic career at 15 as a cub reporter for the local newspaper of the town he grew up in. His grandfather regaled him with stories of his adventures as a

photographer during the war. Pogue studied the work of the great Magnum photographers.

Hans Peter Meyer is a father, dancer, social media consultant, writer, and photographer who has lived in the Comox Valley for most of his 50 years. He’s worked on several

projects recently related to the coastal forest industry, “thrivable” food, and community transitions.

Megan Rutledge is a Grade 10 student at Mark R. Isfeld Secondary School. When not singing with the school and Cantiamo choirs, she is busy photographing them. Last year,

she began photographing local community and sporting events for the Comox Valley Record and is involved with the journalism program at school.

Our photographers:

Jennifer Armstrongis an on-location, (mostly) natural light photographer, specializing in weddings and families and the moments in between. Her photographs are a marriage of modern

and vintage. Jennifer is living happily in a cabin by the sea with her husband Marc and their toddler Tess.

Sgt. Robert Bottrill first joined the Canadian Forces in 1991 as a Navy reservist with HMCS Carleton in Ottawa. Sgt. Bottrill is the supervisor of the imaging section

at 19 Wing Comox, where he trains, mentors and supervises upcoming imagery technicians.

Lisa Coleman enjoys her time taking photos in and around the Comox Valley.

‘The Power of R’. This educational program focuses on the topics of

waste reduction (rethink, refuse, reuse, reduce and recycle)and water conservation.
