TESTIMONIAL February 2015

I have known James for the last fifteen years, as an active humanitarian worker and also as an active pianist in church. He has been working as a Project Coordinator in Global Missions Services among the Pokot and Turkana Communities for over ten years. James is a hardworking and resilient gentleman who has demonstrated an ability as a team player to work in a multi-cultural environment. He has established harmonious and effective working relationships among diverse communities. He has played a critical role in mobilizing resources for sustainable development in West Pokot. He has over 10 years experience developing and implementing Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programmes, training women and youth groups. This has led to increased latrine coverage and usage in 3 pastoralist districts after training and triggering community led total sanitation from 14% to 40% from 2005-2008. Last but not least, since 2004, 8 communities in West Pokot have abandoned the practice of child marriage and FGM/C through four Public Declarations, representing over 5% of the 3,000 communities that practiced these customs in 2002. He successfully implemented the graduation of over 600 girls in the Alternative Rite of Passage Ceremony in West Pokot who made a public declaration to “SAY NO to FGM/C” within a period of 5years. I would recommend him highly for any engagement in management and leadership positions. Sincerely, Hon. Philip Rotino,(MP Sigor) Executive Chairman,Global Mission Services, P.O.
