Circular motion… simplicity, efficiency,reliability

A single shaft line consists of two MV modular vibratorsconnected through a cardan shaft. As the shaft line ispositioned at the center of gravity, a circular motion resultson all points on the screen. Combined with slope angle thiscircular motion gives very good screening efficiency for alltypes of screening applications (coarse, medium, fine).

Product range… versatile, efficient, reliable

Nordberg CVB screens are versatile because they can beused for secondary & tertiary screening as well as primaryscreening (after a jaw crusher for instance).

Standard slope angle is 18°, however, this can be modifiedfor special cases (limited space,…). Adjustablecounterweights allow for stroke adjustment to suit theapplication requirements.

To accept primary material (up to 400 mm, 16 inches) theCVB Primary version has a reinforced top deck fitted withflat panels (rubber or steel plate) and the side plates areextended upwards. Screen settings are adjustedaccordingly for primary applications (increased stroke).

Available in 2 or 3 or 4 deck configurations, CVB’s have awide application capability.

General design…reliability,ease of maintenance

Nordberg CVB screens consist of modular componentsassembled with huck bolts (sideplates, deckframes, MVmodular vibrators,…). The huck bolt fastening system hasproven to be a very safe and reliable method of fixing.

Space between decks is not compromised to enable easierscreen mat replacement.

It is also possible to gain access to screen mats through theback of the screen.

Vibrating feedbox… better rock distribution,better screening efficiency

Secondary/tertiary CVB’s have a vibrating feedbox whichallows a fast distribution of feed material across the fullwidth of the machine and consequently maximisesthroughput.

Ball tray…screening efficiency, modularity

When feed material is very sticky Metso Minerals canprovide a ball tray option which can be easily installedwithout any modification at the screen (easy retrofit).

Spray pipe option…screening efficiency, reliability

For wet screening applications CVB’s can be fitted withspray pipes. This system can be easily installed withoutany modification to the screen (easy retrofit). It comprisesof stationary spray pipes (not vibrating) and removablespray nozzles for ease of maintenance.

Screen decks…versatility, reliability

Standard CVB’s are set up for side tensioned screen matswhatever the type: woven wire mesh, anti clogging mesh(zig zag), rubber, polyurethane,…

Other special screen mats can be accommodated onrequest.

The top deck of the CVB Primary version is fitted with flatbolted panels (rubber or steel plates).

Dust encapsulation... ease of maintenance,environmental and safety concerns

As an option a dust encapsulation structure can beinstalled at the top of the sideplates for dust containment.Easy to install (retrofit), the dust canvas cover can beremoved totally or partially for inspection.

Metso Minerals has developed a complete range ofancillaries for the Nordberg CVB screen line: e.g. supportstructures, access platforms, feed chutes, discharge hoppers(under screen) and removable roll-away discharge chutes.

General arrangement

Nordberg CVB screens are fitted with a shaft line made ofmodular vibrators connected through a cardan shaft. Thetwo modular vibrators are strictly identical.

Inside the screen the shaft line is totally rubber lined forprotection from material flow.

Nordberg modular vibrators: MV Series

MV vibrators are a simple and reliable design. They offer fullinterchangeability between screens which makesmaintenance easier .

Design

The Nordberg modular vibrator consists of a shaft mountedon two bearings (designed for vibrating applications) withcounterweights at each end.

Grease lubrication of the bearings makes the vibrator verycompact and prevents leakage (no oil). An automaticgrease lubrication system is available as an option.Counterweights are adjustable to provide easy strokeadjustment to fine-tune the screening action.

If your MV modular vibrator requires replacement oroverhaul, it can be returned to Metso Minerals as part ofour exchange program.

Several Nordberg MV vibrators are stocked in MetsoMinerals’s warehouses to ensure quick delivery andminimal downtime.

The new modular vibrator can be quickly installed (two orthree hours) in place of the old one and the machine will beback in service. This eliminates timely servicing andreplacement of bearings and other components commonto most vibrating equipment.

Rebuilt Nordberg MV vibrators are warranted withconfidence as a result of complete overhaul, tolerancechecks and replacement of key components at the factory.
