Experience Marks and Spencer Simply Food February 2014 Customer Service Assistant/Team Leader In February 2014 I was presented with the opportunity to become part of the team at a newly opening Marks and Spencer store at my local hospital. It was great to be involved in the opening of a new store and the process of getting everything ready for opening and making sure everything ran smoothly. In my job I did a range of things including working on the tills, stock rotation and date checking, stocking shelves and also sometimes doing the early morning delivery shifts. In doing all these tasks I gained a vast spectrum of skills and experiences because I performed a variety of roles in store. One of the main things I gained was how to perform quality customer service. As well as being a Customer Service Assistant one summer I was given the opportunity to become a Team Leader, This significantly increased my confidence in my job. As I was not a permanent member of staff at the store, I was at university and only worked there when I was home. It also gave me the opportunity to practice and have

Blackpool Pleasure Beach April 2013 – November 2013Shop AssistantMy main responsibilities were to work on my stall serving the customers, I had to make sure I provided good customer service by doing everything could for the customer. I had to promote

our products that we sold and was also responsible for handling the money when I made a sale, most of the time I would run the stall on my own so had lots of responsibility.

The Kingsbury Hotel May 2011 – March 2013Head WaitressMy main responsibilities were helping to prepare the food and also serving the food to the guests. I had to provide quality customer service to the guests and I had to make sure the guests were happy with their meals and ask them if they required any further assistance. I would also tell them to let me know if they had any problems so I could sort them. Once meals were over it was my responsibility to clear up and lay the tables again for the next meal making sure the tables were clean and tidy. I liked to engage in conversation with the guests, as it is key to come across as being friendly so the guests feel comfortable. I would often talk to them about their holiday in Blackpool and tell them the best places to go and they would ask me for recommendations as well as directions to certain places.

Interests and Skills

I enjoy reading and have a keen passion for live music and frequently go and see my favourite artists and bands live and at festivals. I always go on social networking sites such as Twitter and StumbleUpon, in order to keep up with friends and all the goings on in the world. In my spare time I like to keep myself fit by attending the gym and swimming. Throughout my time in education I have gained a variety of skills including: analyzing and constructing sound arguments, being able to write clearly and persuasively, generate ideas and find solutions to problems and being open to new ideas and ways of thinking. As well as these I have gained several transferable skills some of these include: the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines, team work and flexibility and creativity.
