This then led me on to become a voluntary Community First Responder for the Welsh Ambulance Service in the Gwendraeth Valley area. I have attended over 900 life threatening calls in the past 4 years and also coordinate the team. To enable me to gain full time employment in the pre-hospital environment I sought the training to become an IHCD Ambulance Technician and completed the course through Life Skills Medical UK in Birmingham and Essential Training Organization in Redhill, Surrey. I have also completed my IHCD BTEC Level 3 D1-D2 Emergency Driving qualification. I have worked in the South Central Ambulance and South East Coast Area since November 2012. I have covered most of Surrey, including the M25, M3 and A3 motorways. I have also worked for UK Specialist Ambulance Service. During my time in the private sector I covered the South Central, South East, Midlands And east coast areas including the Motorway network well as significant urban, rural and city areas which have all contributed to my experience of driving in various conditions. I have attended a wide variety of calls including road traffic collisions, psychiatric patient emergencies, paediatric, adult medical and surgical emergencies as well as those affected by drink and drugs. I have also dealt with people suffering from a wide range of conditions including strokes, heart attacks, numerous and varied cardiac events and a wide variety of trauma cases both severe and routine. I have also been fortunate to assist in hospital situations when emergency departments are full and the patients require constant monitoring, and have been invited to attend the catheter lab for angiograms and implantation of cardiac stents. This aided my further understanding of the patient's condition. During my time with the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust I was part of a dedicated transfer team working out of Withybush General Hospital in Pembrokeshire. Our main duties were to assist in the transport of Maternity, Obstetric, Gynaecology and Paediatric patients between Withybush hospital and West Wales General Hospital. When not engaged on a transfer, we supported the midwives on the Midwifery Led Unit and also assisted down in A&E during times of pressure. In addition, we also formed part of the hospital medical emergency team, tasked with responding to medical emergencies within the hospital. When not on the dedicated ambulance, I worked as part of a qualified ambulance crew responding to front line emergencies in the community.

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I have held First Aid certificates from a young age, achieving the First Aid at Work certificate whilst in Air Cadets as I was the unit First Aider.

I have worked in the South Central Ambulance and South East Coast Area since November 2012.I have covered most of Surrey, including the M25, M3 and A3 motorways.
