bank’s closure. A number of my responsibilities included making balance transfers, setting up direct debits to service loan accounts, closing accounts, and giving advice about switching banks.

ACET Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City Nov 2013 – Jan 2014English Teacher Taught Academic English to teenagers and adults to prepare them to go abroad to study. Prepared comprehensive lesson plans for every class. These included a variety of interactive

activities based on the language point relevant to each lesson. Conducted, marked and gave individual and group feedback on written, oral, and audio

assessments for all my classes. Attended regular professional development sessions and workshops.

ILA Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City Mar 2013 – Nov 2013English Teacher Taught General English to children from as young as three up to teenagers. All my lessons were

energetic, exciting and interactive so that the children were fully engaged at all times. Developed and implemented different systems of classroom management to keep the children

under control in a way that was appropriate and effective for each level. All the customer satisfaction survey results received were to a high standard.

Westbourne Academy, Bournemouth Jan 2013 – Mar 2013English Teacher Taught General and Business English to teenagers and adults from all over the world. Prepared lesson plans that catered to the learning needs of people of many different nationalities.

This included predicting potential problems with understanding and pronunciation, and developing strategies to overcome such difficulties.

Deanes Deli and Vin Cafe, Belfast Sep 2012 – Nov 2012Waiting Staff Duties involved taking orders, making drinks and starters, cleaning and preparing the restaurant

before, in between, and after service, and occasionally I worked on the pass. Maintained a high level of customer service at all times. In Deanes, the “personal touch” and “real”

service are emphasised, so always built and sustained a strong rapport with customers.

VOLUNTARY WORK

Prince's Trust, Belfast Sep 2014 – Present Role of Progression Mentor. Interact with mentee on a regular basis, assisting them with developing

their CV and signposting how to find further training or employment.

Gò Vấp Orphanage, Ho Chi Minh City 2013 – 2014 Visited the orphanage regularly and spent time with babies, children, and people with disabilities

and learning difficulties to assist the permanent staff in the home.

Willow Bank Hostel for Homeless Families, Manchester 2011 – 2012 Played and engaged in craft and sporting activities with children between 1 and 15 years of age in

the daycare centre in the hostel, to provide care breaks for their parents.

SL Volunteers, Sri Lanka 2011 - 2012 Worked as volunteer coordinator and welfare officer. Taught English in children’s homes and youth centres, and spent time engaging in creative and

therapeutic activities in homes for those with disabilities and special needs.

Daycare Centre, South Africa July 2007 Worked with very young children. We fed them, played with them, did arts and crafts, and taught

them songs in several different languages.

ACTIVITIES AND INTERESTS

Amnesty International Society Committee Member and Letter Writing Coordinator at university. Music and Drama. In secondary school was a member of three choirs and sang in the Proms in

the Albert Hall, with the Vienna Boys’ Choir in various locations in Austria, and in Westminster Abbey in 2006. Also had the honour of singing at George Best’s funeral at Stormont Parliament

Buildings in Northern Ireland. I have been a member of the National Youth Theatre since I was 16, and was offered a part in ‘Orpheus and Eurydice’ in the Old Vic Tunnels in London in 2011.

Sports particularly cycling and a variety of classes at the gym. Keeping fit is very important to me. I organised and captained relay teams for two Belfast Marathons.
