I have recent Chief electrician/Electronics Technician experience with NOV Amphion and cyber blend systems, aboard a Keppel Fels ‘B’ class jack-up, Pacific 400 jack-up in Iran, a drilling production platform in Myanmar; and an AC ‘Ideal’ land skid rig .

Following 15 years Royal Australian Navy service I have worked mines (underground and surface) and SCR and VFD drive oil rigs. My Navy craft was Power electrician – motors and generators, power distribution. My final posting was for 2 years as an instructor teaching Nuclear, Biological and Chemical warfare, Toxic gas resue and resuscitation, Electrical damage control, whilst also developing and improving of training systems. I was trained in Instructional Techniques, and Technical Writing.

I specialise in AC/DC electric drive systems, such as those employed in SCR/VFD oil rigs, haul trucks, electric rope shovels, mine winder systems, etc. I am a technical training specialist, diploma level qualified, with credible international experience as manager of training and training development with reputable companies such as Minera Alumbrera Argentina, and the Caterpillar institute Asia Pacific.

I have recently attended an OPITO Competency Assessor training course but have not got access to trainees to complete it. However, i have a Certificate IV Workplace training and Assessment which i followed up with a Diploma in Workplace Training and Assessment qualification – Australia.

I am very knowledgeable in PLC systems, hydraulics, automotive electrical systems, instrumentation, and air conditioning and refrigeration. I have advanced level knowledge of Siemens Step 7 PLC and Siemens SiBas 32 systems.

In mines I have competently maintained and operated AC VFD and DC SCR electric drive systems in electric drive haultrucks, electric rope shovels (most recently Bucyrus 7495HR2's - cyber), drill rigs, front-end loaders (LeTourneau), mine winder systems.

I am a coal face supervisor that leads from the front demonstrating best practice techniques and teaching my craft to my department.

I am proud of my craft and consistently develop a motivated and knowledgeable technical team.
