Dr. Marco Pelosi III | Cirujano Plástico

Dr Pelosi III is a nationally and internationally recognized educator and innovator in minimally-invasive laparoscopic surgery, pelvic surgery, vaginal surgery and cosmetic surgery. He is the youngest Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the history of the International College of Surgeons, a Founding Member of the elite One-Kilo Club and a four-time recipient of the AAGL’s highest honor, the Golden Laparoscope Award. He is a core member of the American College of Obstetricans and Gynecolo-gists Cosmetic Surgery Task Force and is one of the two founders of the International Society of Cosmetogynecology

Dr. Pelosi III has published numerous scienti�c articles and delivered numerous presentations throughout the United States, Europe, South America and the Paci�c related to surgical technologies and techniques. He is consulted frequently by major specialty societies and surgical technology development teams for his insights and experience.

Dr. Pelosi III is a graduate of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylva-nia where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in 1986. He subsequently pursued animal-based surgical research on the e�ects of trauma in the Department of Surgery of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, New Jersey culminating in two scienti-�c publications and a presentation before the New Jersey Academy of Sciences in 1987.

In 1991, he received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - New Jersey Medical School. His studies included specialty rotations at Hackensack Hospital, Beth Israel Medical Center – Newark, New Jersey, Saint Barnabas Medical Center – Livingston, New Jersey, the New York Hospital – Cornell Medical Center, New York, NY, and the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, Australia.

Dr. Pelosi III completed his residency specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the New York Downtown Hospital in Manhattan, an a�liate of New York Hospital – Cornell Medical College, under the guidance of chairman Stanley Zinberg in 1995. His training included rotations in gynecologic oncology, gynecologic surgery and gyneco-logic pathology at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and the New York Hospital – Cornell Medical Center, respectively.

During his specialty training, Dr. Pelosi III complemented his formal education by attending numerous courses and conferences in surgical gynecology, urogynecology, obstetrics and minimally invasive surgery given by the best and brightest minds in the �eld in both the United States and Europe. He extended and solidi�ed his skills with extensive laboratory, cadaveric and animal training and by observing experts at work in all areas of surgery. As Chief Resident in Gynecology and Obstetrics, he became the �rst surgeon to perform single-puncture operative laparoscopy, laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy, vaginal hysterectomies by morcellation and sacrospinous colpopexies at the New York Downtown Hospital and single-handedly established the Urogynecology Clinic.

Dr. Pelosi III joined his father at the Pelosi Medical Center, their world-renowned gynecologic practice specializing in advanced pelvic surgery and produced numerous innovations, publications and presentations in minimally-inva-sive surgery, vaginal surgery, operative obstetrics and urogynecology.

In 1999, Dr. Pelosi III expanded his minimally-invasive skills and knowledge base into the dynamic arena of cosmetic surgery. Shortly thereafter, he trained under Je�rey A. Klein, a dermatologist at UC-Irvine, and the developer of the tumescent liposuction technique. From that point forward, he has done extensive research in minimally invasive cosmetic techniques pertinent to women and collaborated with numerous cosmetic surgeons, plastic surgeons, general surgeons and other specialists to maximize safety and e�ectiveness in this arena. Dr. Pelosi, along with his father, Marco A. Pelosi, II, MD, established the International Society of Cosmetogynecology in 2004, to properly train gynecologists in cosmetic techniques.
