PROFILE

Dr. Ahmed Sultan Jatoi, born on February 15th, 1969, in Bakhodero, Larkana, Sindh, Pakistan. Got his

Primary Education from native home place, Secondary & Higher Secondary from Government School &

College Dokri, admitted to Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam in 1989 where he obtained his

basic degree D.V.M (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) and M.Sc. (Hons.) in Animal Husbandry &

Veterinary Sciences in 1994 & 1997 respectively; securing 1st class throughout his academic carrier and

won several awards/scholarships for his outstanding academic achievements.

Dr. Jatoi, joined Animal Husbandry wing of Livestock and Fisheries Department, Govt. of Sindh, in 1996

as a Veterinary Officer (BPS-17) through competitive examination of Sindh Public Service Commission.

Dr. Jatoi, did his Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) from University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences

(UVAS), Lahore in Poultry Production discipline in 2012. He has the honor to be the first Ph.D. Degree

holder of Poultry Production Department, UVAS, Lahore. He worked on the “Productive performance of

four close-bred flocks of Japanese quails with different body weights and its effect on subsequent progeny

growth”. Later, he joined Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences

(SBBUVAS), Sakrand in April 2014. He is a prolific writer and has authored over 70 research

papers/articles/abstracts published in international and refereed national journals of international

repute. He also won a research project from Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC), Islamabad

on “Enrichment of Poultry Feed Using Moringa Oleifera”.

Dr. Jatoi, has an experience of over 20 years (BPS-17 to 21) & distinguished career in research, extension

and teaching, with broad experience in poultry breeding & genetics, especially in Japanese quail (Coturnix

coturnix Japonica), native Aseel chicken & alternative approaches to teaching and outreach programs, in

recent advances and future trends in poultry science. He also conducted several examinations of M. Phil &

Ph.D. scholars as external examiner.

Dr. Jatoi, attended various national/international conferences & workshops and is a member of many

professional societies and also member on various statuary bodies of the university including; Senate,

Syndicate, Academic Council, Finance and Planning Committee and also member on various

university committees including; Discipline Committee, Grievance Committee, Selection Board,

Scholarship Committee, Prospectus Committee, Complaint Redressal Committee under SPPRA rules,
