We have an immediate opening for Customer Service/Merchandising Representative to join our team in the Lower Mainland! Job Purpose: As Customer Service/Merchandising Representative, your main focus will be working with the inside sales team to ensure Retail Partner accounts receive top-quality customer service. As the face of the company it will be your responsibility to foster and maintain professional relationships with the current garden centers in your territory, while exploring avenues to expand your customer base. Responsibilities & Duties: Service existing retail accounts, deliver product clean and fill display racks including Growing Guide catalogues and install seed displays; Conducts regular inventory counts to monitor sales of retail seeds and reduce returns; Be the face of West Coast Seeds to each of our Retail Partners, maintaining and building productive, open and cordial relations with Retail Partners, their customers and the general public; Representing West Coast Seeds at trade shows, various events and Seedy Saturdays throughout the season; Collect custom orders from Retail Partners and transmit those along with standard orders to the inside team; Work with Retail Partner Coordinator to organize daily work schedule and route in order to maximize efficiency and allow time for visiting existing and potential new sales outlets; Load company vehicle with seed orders, displays and catalogues required for the days’ route; Have a good working knowledge of West Coast Seeds products and operations, must also have detailed knowledge of the WCS Growing Guide; Keep management informed of issues, inquiries and market intelligence gathered during conversations with Retail Partners;

• Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new

products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.; • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions and making

recommendations to management; • May be required to pick orders for retail delivery; • Participate in the mandatory year end inventory.

Education & Skills:

• Good working knowledge of general computer operations, including excel and email; • Familiar with WCS product line; • Excellent customer service skills; • Strong time-management skills; • Must be available some weekends, particularly between January and June; • Must be willing to travel if necessary; • Comfortable working with numbers and performing basic math; • Accurate with strong attention to detail; • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.; • Energetic and able to multi task in a fast paced work environment; • Able to take direction, be a team player and have a positive attitude; • Valid BC Drivers’ License and clean drivers abstract; • Good communication skills (written and oral).
