Choosing the Right Packaging Material

• Use correct packaging material based on

weight and size of product being shipped.

o Dense packaging foam generally used

for heavier larger items such as

monitors and DVRs.

o Bubble wrap generally used for lighter

smaller items such as Spectras and

cameras.

o Packaging paper generally used for

lighter smaller items such as fixed

cameras and lenses.

o Do not use foam peanuts because it

allows items to shift inside the box

causing damage.

o Wrap units to be returned in a plastic

bags or foam sheets. Use static

shielding material if returning bare

components (Hard Drives, PCBAs).
