Live 3D Transesophageal Echo

An intensive two day immersion workshop in the operating room of the cardiac surgery department with world recognized expertise for valve surgery (Prof. Carpentier’s team).

Each attendee will have the opportunity to manipulate the probe in pre-pump and post-pump intra operative TEE with Dr Berrebi (course director).

Participant interactivity with the faculty is emphasized sharing expertise, protocol, practical tricks and tips.

The course comprises intraoperative cases, slide presentations and interactive discussions of clinical cases.

The course will be held in English with a maximum of two participants.

with Live 3D TEE particularly in valvular heart disease•Identify specific advantages and additional value of Live 3D

approach vs 2D in a complementary approach•Understand surgeon’s needs in Valvular Surgery (valve repair

and replacement) and facilitate team approach and communication with surgeons•Acquire precise protocol of mitral, aortic and tricuspid valve

analysis by 2D and real time 3D approach•Identify causes and mechanisms of failure of valve repair and/or

Live 3D Transesophageal Echo

A 1.5 days training course introducing the use of the Live 3D Transesophageal transducer in the echo lab and in the cath lab.

This course comprises lectures, Live 3D TEE patient exams in the echo lab, attendance of interventional procedures in the cathlab and hands-on quantification workshops.

The course is aimed at Cardiologists with a minimum experience of 20 Live 3D Echo patient examinations performed with the iE33 system.

The course will be held in English with a maximum of four participants.

Evelina Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Trust

This is a two day course on the current applications of three-dimensional echocardiography in structural heart disease.

There will be a strong emphasis on the practical aspects of such technique including acquisition of 3D datasets and use of Philips’ QLAB software; manipulation of normal 3D datasets and those with congenital heart disease. Practical interactive sessions in which participants can crop and orientate datasets with experienced staff; evaluation of left ventricular function. The course faculty is from the Department of Congenital Heart Disease, Evelina Children’s Hospital, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

This course is awarded with 1.5 BSE points.

A two day training course. A hands-on 2D and 3D Advanced Practical Skills Echocardiography Course suitable for clinicians and physiologists.

The Manchester TOE course

This is a two day training course aimed at cardiac physiologists, cardiologists, physicians, cardiac anaesthetists, intensivists and cardiothoracic surgeons.

The course is packed with lectures on echo pathology and case reviews. There are also sessions with one-to-one training on TOE simulators and 3D workstations for delegates choosing option 1 (see below). The course will provide vital revision for anyone intending to sit the accreditation exam at the BSE/EACTA 2011 meetings. For the more experienced TOE operator there will also be opportunities to see TOE cases from the catheter lab in the context of intervention for structural heart disease, including the use of 3D TOE.

An intensive two day workshop combined with hands-on sessions. The course addresses ultrasound techniques depending on the breast pathology and how to get a maximum of clinical information with your ultrasound system.

Participants’ interactivity with the faculty is emphasized in sharing expertise, practical tricks and tips.
