Personal Profile: A flexible, energetic and enthusiastic individual, able to work as part of a team and inspire others through effectivecommunication. Ever eager to rise to new challenges and achieve. I am an experienced train driver with extensive knowledge of the English, French Belgium and Taiwanese railways.
Other Interests: I was employed as a retained firefighter with Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service in England and held a Junior Officer rank. I have played football for both the Fire Service, Eurostar U.K. Ltd. I have a 9 handicap at golf and
play competitively for my local club.
Career Summary: 1972 – Present
1972 Cricklewoood and Cambridge Street, St Pancras Diesel Depots.
Second man and passed for driving as a second man in 1978, then trained on class 08, 25, 31, 45, 46, 47 locomotives.
1979 Charing Cross Electrical Multiple Unit Depot
Gained my registered driver’s position and trained on Six types of electrical units (direct current).
1983 St Pancras
Refreshed class 08, 25, 31, 45, 46 and 47 locomotives and Trained in addition on class 31 locomotives. Also became a driving instructor on diesel multiple units and class 317and 319 electrical m ultiple units (alternating current).
1988 Watford Multiple Unit Depot
Worked as driver and instructor on driver only operationTrains. Attended the Grove management Training Centre on a workshop instucting course.
1991 Eurostar UK Ltd (formerly European Passenger Services)
Joined in the first intake of international train drivers to work the cross channel services to Paris and Brussels.
In 1994 I became a Route learning Instructor and was given the status of Assistant Traction Inspector.
Also instructed French and Belgium foot plate staff on South East England routes to the Channel Tunnel from Waterloo Station.
Trained on class 73 Electro- Diesels and class 373 Electrical Multiple Units. This includes rules and regulations for the French, Belgium railways and Eurotunnel.
2008 THSRC (Taiwanese High Speed Rail Corporation)
Joined THSR 7 January 2008 as a driver. My experience inTaiwan has given me an extensive knowledge of Taiwanese railways and since joining the Company I have added to my traction knowledge (Shinkansen 700T). For the latter part of 2008 until 2010 I was supervising a team of Taiwanese Drivers (Traction Inspector) in Kaosuing, southern Taiwan.
2010 EAST COAST MAIL LINE
Joined ECML 1 september 2010 as a driver based at Kings Cross, London. Trained on class 91, class 82 and class 43 Tractions. I am now currently driving express passenger trains to the
North east of England and I have recently passed a Technical Driver’s course.
