Employment Experience

General Manager/Chairperson/Project Manager Feb 13 – Mar 16 Limerick Craft Hub/Limerick Craft Collective (LCC)

Developed and set up Limerick Craft Hub Ltd. from a personal idea and concept to a running business entity. The Hub would become a local professional craft people’s forum, marketplace and awareness centre. Responsible for the hiring, management and training of 9 staff in total. Established the Limerick Craft Collective, creating links and relationships with local and national craft, civic,

political and enterprise support organisations, including the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland, Limerick Council, UL & LIT, Limerick Chamber of Commerce, LEO/EI, Leader Companies, Shannon Heritage, Tourism Ireland and Media. This resulted in funding support exceeding €135k, with marketing and event inclusion in the major Limerick tourism campaigns and festivals.

Marketed the Hub both online and offline establishing a growing knowledge of its existence enabling a working retail unit, studios and exhibitions to name but a few. This resulted in a first year turnover in excess of €100,000 and visitor numbers of 1,600/month.

Devised and implemented the marketing strategy to incorporate the Craft hub in the Giant Granny project as part of the 2014 City of Culture celebrations. The Project was to knit a giant scarf for Granny which brought 300 extra people into the Hub and 1000’s outside when we presented the scarf to Granny, as well as multiple local and national media outputs. This in turn led to Community Engagment outcomes, eg. Weekly Community Craft Corner.

Carried Operational responsibility for all Craft Hub Retail, Studio facilities, Workshop and Event organisation, Budgets, Finance, HR & Payroll and Administration.

Developed cross sector relationships within local/national bodies for community, enterprise & social development. Delivered Business Development presentations to amongst others Derry City Council enterprise clients, Limerick

Enterprise Office Transition Year Entrepreneurs and Donegal Enterprise Office creative businesses. Chosen as the sole judge by the Celia Holman Lee Agency and Newbridge Silver for the Best Stand Design
