Employment History
Note: Since leaving Telesure Group Services in May 2014 (as set out below), I have been
self-employed primarily in a Management Consulting role, providing my services to
numerous companies across a broad spectrum of industries and in varying roles and
capacities across the country.
During this time I also participated in property development both in a private and
professional capacity. Inter alia I worked as a freelance intern agent for a period of
approximately eighteen months closely with Ian Olivier, the Principal at Pam Golding
Properties (Port Elizabeth), focusing exclusively on the Royalston Wildlife & Residential
Estate Development.
For the purposes of compliance, marketing et cetera, I was formally associated with PGP
PE at this time. This arrangement was in existence between September 2014 and March
2016.
Reasons for seeking fulltime employment: Due to the general downturn in the economy
and the obvious effect in property specifically, as well as a number of personal factors, I
have elected to return to employment within the formal sector.

Name of Company: Telesure Group Services (TGS) Total period: May 1995 to May 2014; Durban, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein & Pretoria
Note: Since I joined the Company in 1995 it changed names twice; from Auto & General
Ins. Co. to Hot-line Administrative Services then becoming Telesure Group Services.
During my tenure I relocated from Durban to Port Elizabeth (taking over the Eastern Cape
region) and whilst there I assumed control of the Free State region as well. I then took over
the Pretoria region in mid – 2010 and returned to Port Elizabeth at the end of 2012.
TGS (Port Elizabeth)
Position: General Manager – Claims and Legal AuditingPeriod: January 2013 to May 2014
Responsibilities: Due to the Pretoria and Johannesburg regions amalgamating and
relocating to the Dainfern campus which was approximately 50kms from where I was
residing in Pretoria, I requested a transfer back to Port Elizabeth as the move did not
agree with me and I have always preferred the quality of life in Port Elizabeth. Initially it
proved opportune to return as the nature of my role allowed me to work remotely.
I had a team of four auditors reporting to me. Three of whom were based in Dainfern and
one who also served as my PA, based with me in PE. In addition to conducting various
audits personally, my role involved co-ordinating and reporting on numerous auditing
activities relating to claims, loss adjusting and legal processes and outcomes. This unit’s
role co-existed alongside those of the Company’s Forensic, Risk Management and
Compliance Departments. These entities interacted constantly due to the over-lapping
nature of the work.
The primary purpose of the unit was to identify fraud, reduce costs and improve systems
and procedures across the three disciplines mentioned above. Within the first year of
operation in excess of R10m in actual problematic examples were identified. This figure
does not include an extrapolation for potential further savings derived from the unit’s
findings. Accordingly, our contribution was even more meaningful as changes were
implemented to improve systems and processes going forward.

I represented Telesure by serving on the Board of Directors of the South African Insurance
Crime Bureau (SAICB). Up until my departure, I also briefly chaired a sub-committee at the
SAICB – namely the Fraud Prevention and Risk Management Committee.
Reason for leaving: Resignation (I was not willing to return / relocate to Gauteng again).

Cont. TGS (Pretoria)
Position: General Manager – Pretoria RegionPeriod: July 2010 to December 2012
Responsibilities: As a result of the continual success of both the EC & FS regions, and
due to constant turnover for a number of years at GM level in the Pretoria region I was
asked to relocate and assume control of the Company’s second largest region, which
serviced approximately one hundred and sixty thousand policy holders.
I was accountable for one hundred and fifteen staff members, including two tiers of
managers, comprising three Business Managers and thirteen Team Managers. Telesure
administrate all claims in the short term space, including loss adjusting and investigation of
matters involving fraud et cetera. With the exception of physically replacing goods and
effecting repairs, no other aspect of their administration process was outsourced.
I served on various committees, including the Company’s Service Action Forum and the
Steering Committee which oversaw the Group’s move to a new campus in Dainfern. I was
involved in relationships with external business partners, regionally and nationally.
I deemed it necessary to effect numerous changes in my management structure moving
no less than ten individuals and appointed eight new managers in a two year period.
During the last year especially, our key performance indicators demonstrated positive
trends, this included turn-around-times, service levels, rejection ratios, savings et cetera.
Aside from achieving business results and targets I have contributed by way of mentoring
and leadership. To that end, the structure within the Company had four Operational GM’s
running three regions. As at January 2014, three of them served as my Business

resource utilisation.
Across both regions I was responsible for three Business Managers whilst fifteen Team
Managers reported to them. In total we had approximately ninety staff members servicing
roughly eighty thousand policy holders in the two regions. Despite being the two smallest
regions, in terms of client base and premium income, both performed admirably (esp. EC).
