10 January 2014 - to date Part-time Residence Life Officer (RLO) for the UKZN Department of Student Residence Affairs (Malherbe Residence): University of KwaZulu-Natal

I was in charge of a UKZN student residence (Malherbe) that accommodates 426 students.

Responsibilities: supervising a team of four (4) Residence Assistants (RAs), enforcing residence rules, holding residence life meeting and other adhoc meetings.

10 January 2010 - December 2013 Part-time Residence Assistant for the UKZN department of Student Housing: University of KwaZulu-Natal

I and other 3 colleagues were in charge of students’ residences that accommodate at least 400 students.

Responsibilities: assisted the Department of Student Housing in allocating students in residences, implemented residence rules, executed fire drills and assisted students during medical emergencies, assisted the Residence Life Officer with conducting House Committee Elections, organised various workshops within the residence, attended meetings organised by the Department of Student Housing, devised strategies to solve specific residence-related problems.
