MovingBeyondDepressionisaresearch-basedprogramusingIn-HomeCognitiveBehavioralTherapy(IH-CBT).Ithasbeentestedandrefinedinthe“realworld”since2002andissupportedbyresearch.Inarecentclinicaltrial(Ammermanetal.,2013aand2013b)comparingIH-CBTplushomevisitingtohomevisitingalone,mothersreceivingtreatmentthroughMovingBeyondDepressionwerelesslikelytohaveadiagnosisofmajordepressivedisorderattheendoftreatment,reportedincreasedsocialsupport,experienceddecreasedoverallpsychologicaldistress,andhadimprovedfunctioning.Motherswhorecoveredfromdepressionexperiencedimprovedcopingandincreasednurturingcareoftheirchildren.Thesebenefitsweresustainedatthreemonthsfollow-up.
