8. Significant achievements:

• Established New Malaria Vector Anopheles subpictus in South East India in 1981.

• New Record of Trichopria khandalus a biocontrol agent of Uzifly Exorista bombycis.

• Developed software for probit analysis for estimating the lethal doses in bioassay studies of mosquitoes.

• Developed software for estimating the aerodynamic parameters of fliers.

• Developed Database for uzifly (Exorista bombycis) a pest of silkworm.

• Developed software for identification of Indian Anopheles mosquitoes Malaria by using Expert system.

• Developed software for identification of female Culex mosquitoes of South-East Asian countries.

• SOM a cluster technology that Prioritizes control parameters in endemic zones of vector borne diseases.

• Developed software on mosquito density prediction model (JEBNET), disease classification (VBClassif), GIS applications (FMVS), dengue decision support system (DDSS) and SAMADHAN KENDRA (A rural IT centre).

• Established super computing facility PARAM 10000 and PARAM PADMA at Biology Division of CSIR-IICT for Bioinformatics course and also for studies on vector borne diseases in 2002.

• Participant: Network Initiative for Sustainability, Climate Adaptation and Mitigation (NISCAM) which has been approved by Planning commission as an inter agency network project to be later developed into an independent institute.

• Participant: Open Source Drug Discovery – Malaria (CSIR-CDRI Lucknow is the Nodal agency)

• Collaborator: INDRAAS (Integrating disease prediction with weather and climate models seamlessly) a bilateral project of CSIR – CMMACS, CSIR – IICT and University of Liverpool UK funded by British Council through its UKIERI.

9. Technologies transferred:

• Expert system for the identification of 54 Indian Anopheline mosquitoes is transferred to Defense Research Laboratory (DRDO) Tezpur Assam for its application in the field at Assam and other North Eastern states of India

• SOM (Self Organizing Map) a cluster technology that can reduce the outbreaks of mosquito borne diseases has been transferred to NVBDCP

(National Vector Borne Disease Control Program Ministry of Health Govt. of India) for its usage in Gujarat and North East India 2011.

• Technology on Integrated Sericulture for self employment and income generation is transferred to many farmers of Assam, Manipur etc., in collaboration with CSIR- NEIST Jorhat.
