BASIC NEUROLOGICAL TRAINING:

I have secured DM in neurology in July 2012 from NIMHANS. The National Institute of

Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) is a multidisciplinary institute for patient

care and academic pursuit in the field of mental health and neurosciences. In 2012,

NIMHANS was conferred the status of an „Institute of National Importance‟. The institute is

a tertiary referral centre from all over India for all types of neurological disorders that include

stroke, epilepsy, movement disorders, demyelinating diseases, neuromuscular diseases and

pediatric neurology. I have been trained in the evaluation of Parkinson's disease, Essential

tremor, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Corticobasal Degeneration, Multiple System

Atrophy, Parkinson plus syndromes, Diffuse Lewy body disorders, Spinocerebellar Ataxias,

Friedreich's Ataxia, Huntington's disease, NBIA, tremor, dystonia (including torticollis,

Writer's Cramp, Blepharospasm, focal and generalized dystonias), Hemifacial spasm, tics,

chorea, athetosis, ballism, myoclonus, or a combination of these problems under the guidance

of Dr Uday Muthane, Dr Pramod kumar Pal and Dr Ravi Yadav. I have assisted in

administration of Botulinum Toxin injections for a variety of dystonias - toticollis,

blepharospams, hemifacial spasm, Writer‟s cramp and focal dystonias, evaluation of patient

with PD for Deep Brain Stimulation. I have completed a project titled “Prevalence of REM

sleep behaviour disorder in patients with Parkinson‟s disease- A questionnaire based study”

under the guidance of Dr Pramod kumar Pal and Dr Ravi Yadav during my training period in

NIMHANS.

SKILLS:

I have teaching experience of 2 years as a Senior Resident and 5 years as an

Assistant/Associate Professor in Neurology.
