Master's degree research report project at Kansas State University (U.S.A.) entitled "An
Islamic Scheme of Equitable Distribution of Income and Wealth" was supervised by
Professor Dr Patrick Gormely (my major professor), Professor Dr James F. Ragan (The
then Head of the Department of Economics (my research supervisor) and Professor Dr

EMPLOYMENT
█ had been employed as a Lecturer/Research Officer at International Institute
of Islamic Economics, International Islamic University Islamabad from 26
December 1987t o 16 June 2000.
█ Had been employed as an Assistant Professor at International Institute of
Islamic Economics (IIIE), International Islamic University Islamabad since
17 June 2000 to-date.
In addition to teaching courses in the field of economics, I have been serving as a
member of the departmental Research Committee, Committee for Governing Affairs of
Seminar Library, Committee for Hiring Part-Time Faculty Members and Admissions
Committee as well as Chairman of the departmental Committee for Deciding the Cases of
Students Involved in Unfair Means in Examinations. .Earlier, I served as Chairman of the
Committee for Conducting Terminal Examinations and secretary of the Committee for
Organizing a Series of Fortnightly Seminars on Islamic Economics at the International
Institute of Islamic Economics, International Islamic University, Islamabad.
Have been a Pioneer-/Coordinator of the Distinguished Economists’ Lecture Series
(DELS) at the International Institute of Islamic Economics.
The inaugural lecture in DELS was delivered by a former secretary of the Finance
Division of the Government of Pakistan Dr. Waqar Masud Khan [Ph.D. (Economics),

Boston University] in Spring Semester 2017 – the title of the lecture was “IMF Programs
in Pakistan.”
The Vice Chancellor of Pakistan Institute of Development Economics Professor Dr. Asad
Zaman [Ph.D. (Economics), Stanford University] delivered the 2nd lecture in DELS was
delivered on Wednesday 22 November 2017 – the title of the lecture was “Creating a
Genuinely Islamic Economics.”
IIUI’s Professor Emeritus Dr. Sayyid Tahir [Ph.D. (Economics), McMaster
University]delivered the 3rd lecture in DES on Wednesday 9 May 2018 at 11:30A.M.-
1:00 P.M. – the title of the lecture was “Zakah and Qur'an and Sunnah: An Exploratory
Study."
A former Director of Islamic Research and Training Institute at the Islamic Development
Bank, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia Professor Dr. M. Fahim Khan [Ph.D. (Economics), Boston
University] delivered the 4th lecture in DELS on Wednesday 12 December 2018 – title of
the lecture was “What is Economics and what is Islamic Economics?”
A former Vice Chancellor of Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad (QUAI) and former
Chairman, Economics Department at QUAI Professor Dr. Eatzaz Ahmed [Ph.D.
(Economics), McMaster University] delivered the 5th lecture on “Current Debt Crisis in
Pakistan in DELS on 20 May 2019.
