Character Education

• Character traits are introduced at a monthly assembly. Students who display good behaviors are recognized.

Behavior Management

• Student teachers should follow the behavior management plan of the co-operating teacher.

• Modifications can be made to the plan, with input from the classroom teacher.

Fire Safety

• NYS requires 150 minutes of fire safety education per year.

Bus Safety

• Lessons are taught 3 times per year.

• Objectives are provided by the Transportation Dept.

• Disks containing lesson plans are available in the main office.

Interdisciplinary Lessons

• You may wish to incorporate other grade levels or disciplines into your lessons. (Reading Buddies, projects with Art, Music, P.E., or LMC.)
