A. 1. Specific action requested: (Example: Increase the number of credit hours for ABC 100 from 1 to 2.)

Modify the Informatics minor by making CSC 314 a required part of the minor and making CSC 307 as part of the “two of” courses

A. 2. Proposed Effective Academic Term: (Example: Fall 2012)

Fall 2014

A. 3. Effective date of suspended programs for currently enrolled students: (if applicable)

B. The justification for this action:

We feel that 314 is more important to the minor and that it makes more sense to have CSC 123 and 307 as the “two of” selections, since those courses are more similar in focus.

Revise Psychology major to include Senior Exit Course in Psychology as a requirement for graduation.

A. 2. Proposed Effective Academic Term: (Example: Fall 2012)

The College of Arts and Sciences is no longer collecting Senior Exit data from our majors. This 0 credit course that is required for graduation will allow us to collect this valuable data free of charge to the students. A. 1. Specific action requested: (Example: Increase the number of credit hours for ABC 100 from 1 to 2.)

In the Marketing Research & Analytics concentration of the BBA in Marketing, replace the MKT 380 seminar with MKT 456 stand-alone class, and replace CIS 370 with CIS 430.

A. 2. Proposed Effective Academic Term: (Example: Fall 2012)

Fall 2014

A. 3. Effective date of suspended programs for currently enrolled students: (if applicable)

B. The justification for this action:

By developing the stand-alone MKT 456 (Qualitative Research in Marketing) instead of using the MKT 380 (Seminar in Marketing), the class structure of Marketing Research and Analytics Concentration in Marketing is more clear and relevant. It is easier for students and external employers to understand the structure and the quality of the program.

CIS 370 was changed to CIS 430 by the CIS faculty.

The minor in American Sign Language teaches communication competency in a visual language. Students become knowledgeable about aspects of the hard-of-hearing and deaf community. For careers working with the public, this minor is beneficial for understanding and communicating with the deaf and hard-of-hearing. This minor does not prepare students to interpret, nor fulfill the pre-admission and admission process for the Interpreter Training ASL and English Interpretation Program. B. The justification for this action:

APP 200 is taught regularly, is part of Gen Ed, and the course includes content for the programmatic student learning outcomes, which need to be evaluated for assurance of learning purposes at the end of the program. APP 460 enrollments have never been strong, the content is not essential to the programmatic student learning outcomes, paying for an instructor to teach just a few students is not wise use of resources, and there is anecdotal evidence that the requirement of a minor capstone may deter students from pursuing the minor

C. The projected cost (or savings) of this proposal is as follows:
