Current State of ICOMAA-NA
AMA data confirmed that about 950
alumni in the USA Many are in Academia, Clinical Practice,
Research in pharmaceuticals and medical devices, Clinical practice and Administrators.
Of the 950 alumni, less than 100 have been involved in ICOMAA activities since inception.
General lackadaisical attitude to ICOMAA

Grand rounds/lectures. Different Classes contributing projects. ICOMAA-NA training trainers and
providers for ACLS. ICOMAA-NA liaising with ICOMAA world
wide Annual meeting not well attended
except when a VIP is visiting.

Encouraging Participation
CPR training at the college from January
27, 2014 through February , 2014. Training provided for BLS providers, BLS
Instructors, 30 ACLS providers and 26 ACLS instructors.
Budgeted $15,000 but only $8843.80 spent based on DIY.
College as AHA Center restored

BLS providers =118 46 BLS Instructors = 46 ACLS Providers = 30 ACLS Instructors = 26 Total Numbers = 220 trained. AHA issue certificates awarded as
against local certificates

Training equipment = $3768.10 Flight Tkts ($803.90x3) = $2411.70 (does not
include my personal cost) AHA certificates (96 BLS @$7 each and 60 ACLS
@$10 each) = $1272.00 Nigerian entry Visa x3 @439 each = $1317.00 Excess luggage = $75.00 Total cost = $8843.80 No cost to ICOMAA for my trip or welfare of the 3
trainers.

Adeola Odutola Complex – a donation from late
Chief Adeola Odutola of Ijebu Ode. Potentially a Private Faculty Practice that Alumni can be involved and an Alternative to Oluyoro.
Clinical Stimulation Laboratory – similar to flight stimulator and needed in training medical students.
Contact was made with Johns Hopkins International health for collaboration but there was never a go-ahead from the college
