BOTH 8:30am and 10:30am Masses.

Hope to see you there!

Rest in Peace Please remember in your prayers

the family of Joan Ahlers.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus says that God is glorified when a disciple, grafted in Christ, produces abundantly and bears much fruit. The disciple must then be a good steward of that abundance.

Preparing for Next Weekend

Attention St. Clare Youth!

RSVP to Marita Hartel, text or call 513.505.1641 or email [email protected] if you can come.

Parents and older youth welcome and appreciated!

First Eucharist of nine children will be during the 10:30am Mass on Sunday, May 6. Please keep the young people and their families in your prayers as we welcome them to the table. Thanks again to Ellen Poppleton for preparing our young people and to the parents for their dedication.

St. Clare Pentecost Potluck Party: Celebrating Our Service & Spirit

ALL of St. Clare is invited to a grill-out potluck to celebrate the Spirit of St. Clare on Saturday, May 19 from 6-7:30pm! The Pentecost Party takes place in the Parish Center and there will be space for basketball and games. As part of our celebration, everyone is encouraged to intentionally engage in a service activity the week of Pentecost. Share your service and share the spirit! Write a few sentences about what happened and share it at the Potluck. You can email/bring to the office if you are not able to join the Potluck. We will provide the brats, metts, hot dogs, and drinks. Bring your favorite dish (appetizer, dessert, vegetable or other) to share with fellow parishioners. And if you can’t bring a dish, bring yourself – there’s always plenty of food to share!!

A Day of Service Do you have time Saturday morning, May 12 to take action against human trafficking? St. Clare has again been invited to participate in a day of service called Go Local (formerly called Go Cincinnati), sponsored by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, in partnership with Crossroads Church. No black shoes to sort as we did in the Year of Mercy! Join fellow parishioners as we will again (like last year) work with End Slavery Cincinnati to distribute information about human trafficking. The event will start in the morning and end early afternoon (exact time to be announced). Please contact Esperanza Gallon 513.293.1907 or [email protected] with questions or to reserve your spot.

PSR: Thank You! Thank You!

Sunday, April 29, begins summer break for our Parish School of Religion (PSR). Our deepest thanks to the catechists who make it possible: Michael Barnett, Vanessa Deren, Stacy Fischer-Samano, and Sr. Caritas Martinez. Their dedication, generosity, creativity, and faith-filled lives provide a model for our youth and allow the children who participate to flourish. We have *four* PSR openings for next year. If you feel called to be a part of PSR’s future, please contact Donna in the office 513.541.2100. You will need to be approved to work with children. It takes a parish and new people are invited and encouraged to get engaged!

Dismas Journey

St. Clare Parish is co-sponsoring a Dismas Journey program May 23, at 7:00pm to take place at Little Flower Parish cafeteria.

St. Dismas was the "good thief" crucified alongside Jesus. The 90-minute program will feature stories from returning citizens recently reentering society from prison, sharing their desire to live a better life and the immense challenges of finding work after prison. There is hope alive, especially through organizations like St. Vincent de Paul, and the HELP Program. Join us for this informative and moving evening sponsored by the Peace and Justice Commission.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLW)

will take a break for summer!

We give thanks to God for Jeremy Boerger, Erin Leach, Jeanne Phillips, and Pam Schaible who served as Leaders and for Dannielle Jasper, Bill Phillips Diane Pugh, Carrie Vogel, and Katie Weigand who served as Helpers. CLW’s goal is to help children engage meaningfully in the Liturgy, thus beginning a life-long practice of praying and celebrating Mass. During the 10:30am Mass, children (K-4th grade) leave before the First Reading and return for the Preparation of Gifts. They gather in the Conference Room to hear the readings at a level they can understand and are invited by their Leader to respond. As we wish Jeremy a fond farewell and our deepest gratitude for years of service, we invite you to consider becoming a Leader for next year! You will need to be approved by the Archdiocese to work with children. If you are interested or need more information, please contact Donna in the parish office 513.541.2100.

All new!

Vacation Bible School is not just for kids! Ladies, are you game?

When: Thursdays, May 31 through July 5

10am-11:30am

Where: Parish Center

Child-friendly! Bring the children. The gym will be available for them to play. Snacks will be

provided. Depending on your child’s age, you may be interested in childcare. If

so contact College Hill Presbyterian Church (541-5676) as they may offer it.

Six easy sessions! Each of the six sessions is independent; you need not worry

about missing a session. We will study six women using

Jeanne Kun’s “Biblical Women in Crisis: Portraits of Faith

and Trust,” as we all need models to get through the tough

moments. The book is all-inclusive containing both the

scripture and the questions to help us understand and apply

the text to our lives. It’s easy to follow and engaging. The

book costs about $12 and is available from Word Among Us

Press or Amazon, please contact Donna in the office (541-

2100, [email protected]) if you need help obtaining

a book or have questions.

YES, it’s totally okay if you can’t make all six, if you can’t finish the reading, if you have to come late or leave

early – it’s summer and we’re keeping it low-key.

Attention St. Clare JPII School Families

All St. Clare families who are currently registered at John Paul II for the 2018-2019 school year should have received a packet in the mail with a Covenant Form and Education Fund Scholarship Application. The Covenant form must be filled out and returned before a family can be notified of their final tuition amount. We will once again be able to offer a few tuition scholarships to St. Clare families with tuition assistance needs. The Education Fund has been established thanks to the generosity of St. Clare parishioners who support the Angel Fund through the Christmas Wish List as well as friends of St. Clare with a strong commitment to Catholic education. If you didn’t receive the packet, please contact the parish office.

Covenant Forms and Scholarship Applications must be returned

Since 1975, the LPMP has equipped ordinary Catholics to accomplish extraordinary things in the name of Christ. Weeknight and Saturday classes, flexible components and a supportive environment allow participants to maintain job, family and community commitments while answering a call to deeper discipleship. Interviews are now underway for fall classes at the main campus and Good Shepherd, Montgomery. 513.231.1200.
