Feel
Tilt
Feel the quality of banknote substrate: o paper – it should feel unique, firm, and slightly rough
in the heavily printed areas with crisp sound
o polymer - smooth, unique texture of the note. It is made from a single piece of polymer with some transparent area.
Look at the banknote against white light: o Watermark and clear
window – a shadow image and denom value appear
o Security thread – a dark line with micro letterings appears
Hold the banknote straight and tilt it:
o Observe the image motion and colour changes at the woven security thread.
Check the banknote using devices:
o UV light – the paper substrate will not glow except for certain security features
o Magnifier – intaglio micro-letterings are printed and invisible by the naked eye
