The balance uf the earnings has been aduea to surplus and is work- ing for your profit. "The year 1928. has been an im- portant milestone in the history of Municipal Bank & Trust Company. At the end of 1927 its capiat surplus and undivided profits amounted to $4,455,000; end of 1928,' $12,200,000; book value of the stock, 1927, $175; 1928. $244; resources at ond of 1927, $44,970,000; end of 1928, $80,000,000; branches, 1927, fourteen in Brook- lyn: 1928, four in Manhattan and sixteen in Brooklyn." BANK OF U. S. PLANS PARIS OFFICE The Eank of United States, ac- cording to rumor, intends opening an office in Paris shortly. It is also said that two more branches are to be opened in New York City. Wall Street gossip also says that the bank is negotiating for the control of another New York one. and negotiations may result i n a merger announcement soon.
