Letter from the ExecutiveDirector: Creating aCulture of CommunityGreetings Members!
Last week I attended the DCDC'squarterly "eat Lunch & Learn something" event wherethe speaker shared how her employer consciously"creates a culture of community." I loved it! Of course Ienvisioned how I could implement some of the examplesin the DCDC office. But more than that, I found myselfconsidering how the DCDC currently supports a "cultureof community" within its membership.
Here's how the DCDC is creating a "culture ofcommunity" * We have a mission to support and build a thrivingcommunity: Everything we do comes back to this! (Readthe official mission here.) * We lead by example: Just as we want the businessesin DeWitt to be the best version of themselves, we wantto be a better DCDC for our members. We areconstantly striving to improve our resources, services, and benefits for the membership! Stronger businessesequate to a stronger community. * We support volunteerism: We truly can't do it just asstaff; we must have the volunteer knowledge and manpower to leverage into results for our community.* We support and encourage collaboration and teamdecision making: Read More
