There are a few families that have not signed up to work this meet. Please go online immediately and sign up for an open job (except stroke & turn, as these are trained/approved people jobs) or as a floater so that we can call on you to fill in any job openings. Being a floater means you agree to fill ANY job that needs filling on-deck. REMINDER, PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR CELL NUMBER WHEN SIGNING UP FOR A VOLUNTEER JOB. Since we are running our first late afternoon/night meet of the season, everyone who has an AM job will report to their job for the first shift. All PM jobs will report for second shift when announced over the PA system (PM starts at event 42). At the meet, pay close attention to the announcer for AM (first) to PM (second) shift change and for your family name if called. As always, email us if you are experiencing any difficulty or you have special circumstances requiring assistance in signing up for a volunteer job. Go Cudas! Brett Weshner and Jen Harmon > [email protected] Message from Coach Brian Swimmers: CONGRATULATIONS on our first win of the season agains the Sierra Sharks! It was a strong win: 500.5 - 288.5. There were 244 improved times: 117 for girls, 113 for boys and 14 for relays. Congratulations to those swimmers and to our record breakers (page 2)! Two groups remain undefeated in dual meets: 7-8 boys and 13-14 girls. This Friday is our first night meet at home against the College Greens Gators. Le’ts go for the win in the CUDA ZONE. Swim fast and strong!! And remember to always show good sportsmanship and shake hands with the swimmers in the lanes next to you. Practice: Last week’s theme was underwaters, holding the line off the wall, holding your breath on your breakout, and turns. An example that I used yesterday was from the Sierra Sharks meet, 13-14 girls 100 free (heat 1). All five Cudas in that heat (Megan Baker, Marisa Ritchie, Ashley Sanders, Maddy Baker and Amanda Siy) did a great job with these four techniques during the race. Out of the 20 total opportunities, there were 19 that were perfect! These techniques are very important, so we are going to continue focusing on them for the whole team for the rest of the season. Don’t underestimate the underwater work! The coaches want to thank of all of our swimmer coaches and age group captains for stepping up and being leaders this season.
