Our new programs are active, learn-by-doing experiences, all specifi cally designed to encourage
students to explore, innovate, create and fi nd joy in learning. Program topics and delivery are
adapted to meet the needs of learners for all age groups. The programs have been developed
to complement our exhibits and daily fi lms.

ARTS & HUMANITIES
ART OF THE ANIMAL Humans have been capturing the beauty of the
natural world in their artwork for thousands of
years. Take part in this long-standing tradition
by creating animal art of your own! Along the
way, learn about the elements of art and how
to apply them to bring your vision to life.
BEAUTY OF THE BUTTERFLY Butterfl ies are some of nature’s most beautiful
creatures. Come learn about how they become
such natural works of art—and about the
biological functions of such beauty—while

Program Offerings
Part 1: Airborne ArtImagine fl ying over your home like the child in
“Abuela.” Students in our Storyland program
will do just that as they explore their artistic side
and create a picture of what they might see if
they could fl y over their own city or town.
Part 2: Rhyme Time!This BINGO-style game will challenge
students’ rhyming skills. Each board will
have a unique set of words with matching
pictures—but will they rhyme with the word
that’s called? They’ll have to in order to win!
Part 3: Storytelling ScrambleDoes this story make sense? Students will
explore narrative by rearranging pages from a
storybook so that it matches the illustrations
and tells a story.
