Use of Studies in Decision-making
BOEM has just released a new study report relevant to birds and offshore wind turbines on the Atlantic coast. It’s available on our Website, www.boem.gov.
The findings add new insights into minimizing risks to birds from this technology and to environmental analyses and decisions regarding future proposed projects.
It is one of about 10 studies related to offshore avian life and bats, and demonstrates the bureau’s commitment to balancing economic development, energy independence and environmental protection as it makes future decisions regarding off-shore energy.
