Learning Centre started in 2009 with assistance of HOPE EFC and a grant from UNHCR

WHAT WE DO

REFUGEE-DIRECTED Managed by Myanmar refugee community. Training provided by UNHCR, with administrative oversight by HOPE EFC

NON-SECTARIAN Open to all Myanmar refugees from all tribes (Chin, Bama, Kachin, Karen, Rohingya, etc) and faith communities

FEE-BASED We collect a small monthly fee to support our salaried staff and pay for rental and other expenses. Shortfalls are common

INTAKE & CLASSES 100 children. 5 teachers. 3 volunteers Ages 3 – 17 years 6 Grades - Kindergarten to Grade 6 9am – 3pm Monday to Friday

CURRICULUM Mainly English medium of instruction Subjects taught: English, Math, Science, Art, Computer Literacy
