Lower-Division Transfer Patterns (LDTP)

LDTP Information on CSUMentor
Lower-Division Transfer Patterns
It will ultimately provide major prep articulation across The CSU – for all CCCs, a benefit for students around the state
44 disciplines with patterns 90% of transfer students pursue these disciplines Statewide patterns will be honored at all campuses
offering the discipline Completion of the whole pattern for a CSU campus will
enable the student to progress to the upper division level courses in that major at the CSU campus
For the student who knows exactly what and where s(he) wants to study, current campus based major preparation articulation and local transfer admission agreements continue to be quite useful.
For the student who is initially uncertain about a major and/or CSU campus, LDTP provides a measure of flexibility and options for preparing to study at The CSU.
LDTP is a statewide alternative to each CSU campus’ lower-division major preparation.
Lower-Division Transfer Patterns
LDTP benefits all students who complete the statewide and/or whole pattern
LDTP does not replace current local TAG or TAA programs
LDTP provides major prep articulation which spans all CSU campuses – in 44 disciplines
LDTP does not abridge the faculty’s authority and discretion for setting policy and procedures for campus-based major prep articulation
The Truth about LDTP…
LDTP is one of many ways to prepare for and gain admission to CSU
LDTP admissions agreements will include impaction selection criteria for impacted majors
The Truth about LDTP…
What LDTP is - LDTP is an advising tool The statewide LDTP component is valid at any CSU
campus offering that discipline Students who:
1. exercise an LDTP admissions agreement when available, 2. successfully complete the entire set of LDTP courses,
and 3. meet all LDTP admissions agreement stipulations
will be accorded the highest admissions priority
LDTP Advisory Committee – CCC representatives as well as CSU representatives
