Originally given a bad rap because their s�ff bone-cement bristles damaged surgical instruments, today’s updated and improved stainless steel brushes are designed to bend and automa�cally remove baked-on debris and stains that nylon brushes can’t handle.

When cleaning your surgical instruments, start with a nylon brush, then use a stainless brush to remove any remaining debris or staining.

These brushes are intended for use on bone files, needleholder jaws, burs, reamers, vascular instrument serra�ons, and stubborn stains. Insulated, coated, plated, or chrome instruments can be damaged by using a stainless steel brush.

BRUSH SELECTION SYSTEM Use these simple steps in determiningwhich wire brush will best serve your instrument cleaning needs

PART 1: INSTRUMENT SPECIFICATIONSA. What is the maximum length of the instrument(s) to becleaned? Now add at least 5cm to that length so you havean adequate length to work with. B. What is the inner diameter ofthe instrument? Now add at most 3mm to determine thediameter of the bristle to ensure effec�ve cleaning. The bristlediameter has to slightly exceed the inner tube diameter. Bristlesthat are too large will bend too much and not clean effec�vely.

PART 2: BRUSH SELECTIONNow that you have the basic informa�on for your required brush,simply find the sec�on in our catalogue that best corresponds tothe overall length required as determined in Part A. Now select thebrush that best corresponds to the diameter determined in Part B.As a rule, if your present brush is 20.32 cm in length and weonly offer 25.40 cm length with your required diameter, that isen�rely acceptable.
