What is CSR?CSR stands for Corporate Social Responsibility
What does it mean?Companies that accept CSR cares for the following things:
The Environment They try to stop things like global warming and make earth sustainable
They can do this by:
• Energy saving• Reuse Reduce Recycle

They help develop local community and help out with world problems like education, hunger, human rights. They help build schools and give food to the hungry.
They can do this by:
• Education programs
• Employing people with special needs
What is CSR?Charity
They help charity by giving a percentage of the money the company get to charity which helps orphans, disabled people and old people live a better life
They can do this by:
• Team building events (an event where staffs help build houses for homeless people)
• Sponsorships
• Fund raising events
• Employees day off to contribute to charity event
Why do companies accept CSR?
What is the point of CSR? Well, there are 4 main reasons companies accept CSR.
1. Cost Savings
Accepting CSR is like killing two birds with one stone. You can help with the environment and also reduce costs at the same time. For example, If you have a energy saving policy, you can save the cost of energy and reduce global warming at the same time.
2. Brand Differentiation
In the business world, there are other companies which offers the same product as your company, how do you make your company stand out and make customers buy you product instead of theirs? What Namthip drinking water does is make their bottle with less plastic which helps with the environment and global warming, it also helps with cost savings. If a customer goes into seven eleven and does not know which brand of water to buy, they will most likely pick Namthip since it has less plastic and reduces global warming
Why do companies accept CSR?3. Customer Engagement
If customers know that some of the money your company goes for a good cause, they will buy your company’s product because they will feel as they are helping out. Companies aim for this because it will increases their profit, fame and reputation.
4. Long term thinking
If a company accept CSR the companies growth will continue, it will mean that the company would sell well. This will make the company’s future sustainable which will benefit the company because they will last longer.

• People may not know about it. For example, Wal-Mart is the leader of environmental efforts, I bet that you did not know that.
• Since running CSR cost a lot, your product might be expensive and may cause customers to buy from other brands.
Is CSR necessary?
I think CSR is necessary, although there might be some negative side to it, the positive side is so important that it is worth giving a try. If a CSR company is successful, it is likely that they will be famous and their company’s future will be sustainable. Having a sustainable future is really important so the company’s income will remain sustainable.
