Introduction

This test report details the results obtained from the pressure assessment carriedout on two test assemblies supplied by Fusion Australia PTY LTD containingPE100 pipe and Fusamatic electrofusion fittings. The two assemblies were testedin accordance with AS/NZS 4129:2000, Clause 3.5.2 resistance to internalpressure. Tables 1 and 2 outline the individual electrofusion fittings contained oneach of the two test assemblies PDA06/012a and b respectively.

Experimental

Each test assembly was conditioned for a period of 12 hours prior topressurization in a water bath at 80 °C. Table 3 outlines the test conditions usedduring the assessment.

The applied test pressure was taken to be the average pressure calculated fromeach pipe off cut supplied (Pipe sizes DN125, 110, 90) by measuring theminimum wall thickness and mean outside diameters using a hoop stress level of5 MPa. Figure 1 shows the two test assemblies assessed.

Conclusions

The two test assemblies supplied by Fusion Australia PTY LTD identified byCSIRO as PDA06/012a and b, when tested in accordance with AS/NZS4129:2000, Clause 3.5.2 were found to fulfil the requirements by showing nosigns of failure during a test duration of 1000 hours.
