On my personal behalf, and on behalf of my CSIR-IIP family, I welcome him for this prestigious position and wish him all the best to take CSIR to greater heights.

thI may note here that I handed over the charge of DG-CSIR on 25 August, 2015. The period between February to August was indeed a very busy time for me as I had to shoulder the responsibilities of DG-CSIR along with running the Institute. I tried to do my very best in order to meet the expectations of this coveted position.

Yet again, we won the CSIR Technology Award but this was different. This is the most significant CSIR Technology of the Five-Year Plan period given to us for commercializing Thoxcat ES. I am happy to inform that this catalyst has worked successfully in the LPG Sweetening Unit of Oman. Also, the Wax Deoiling Unit at Numaligarh has now gone to 100% capacity and continues to produce Type I wax. The unit for Recovery of Benzene from FCC Gasoline at Reliance is nearing mechanical completion and we shall be commissioning the same by the end of this year.

This quarter has been particularly productive in terms of a large number of research publications as well as filing of patents. There has been a renewed thrust by CSIR to implement the Dehradun Declaration, more particularly for initiating translational research as well as for commercializing technologies.
