developed by Metropol CRB specifically for the Kenya market, this credit score is assigned to individuals in order to measure their creditworthiness. Your M-Score ranges in value from 300 to 850. A low score means an inferior credit history and a high score indicates a good credit history with lower risk of default. Lenders of all types may use this score to assess the risk of providing credit and may offer preferential terms and conditions to borrowers with good credit scores. Certificate of Clearance (CoC) For Governmental, and an increasing number of private sector, employers it is now mandatory for prospective employees to present a CoC from one of the licensed credit reference bureaux (CRBs). A CoC may be used to Know Your Employee (KYE), Know Your Customer (KYC), Know Your Agent (KYA), or to clear an individual or a company itself for business with third parties. MCRB is now making this available via the convenience of Your mobile phone.

QUICK START INSTRUCTIONS

The following instructions are applicable for subscribers to the Safaricom mobile network and M-Pesa mobile money services (other networks and mobile money providers will be activated soon):

1. Dial *433# 2. Select “My Listing Status” from the

menu

3. Input your National ID number

4. Input your First Name then your Last Name

5. If you have been introduced by a Crystobol Agent then input the Agent Number (or Lender Code if it is a lending institution)

6. Confirm the details and send

7. You will then receive a SMS message prompting You to make a payment to complete the registration.

8. Go to Your M-Pesa menu and select “Payment Services” or “Lipa Na Mpesa” on the updated menu, then select “Pay Bill”.

9. Make a minimum payment of KES 100.- with 220388 as the Business Number and Your National ID number as the Account Number.

10. Wait for a response from MCRB confirming successful registration of Your National ID number and Your secret Crystobol Personal Identification Number (PIN), which you will need whenever you use the service.

11. Using a web browser, go to: https://www.metropolcrb.com/crystobol/ from where you can access your first MCRB credit report for free

12. Log in using Your National ID number and Crystobol PIN

13. Submit the Reference number sent with the registration SMS to view Your MCRB credit report
