Review with students who Dracula and Van Helsing are, Dracula, a vampire and Van Helsing, the vampire catcher. One of the
students will be chosen by the teacher to play the role of Van Helsing. This student will be asked to leave the area and wait
until he/she has been called to help save the village which has been experiencing a number a vampire attacks.
Before you begin, its a good idea to do some humming to warm up the students voices before you ask them to scream.
Once van Helsing has left the room the teacher will then choose who will be Dracula. Dracula kills people by baring his/her
teeth at the rest of the players. If Dracula bares his teeth at someone, that person must clutch his/her neck and die a
dramatic death while making a blood-curding scream.
Dracula must be as cunning as possible, baring his/her teeth when van Helsing is not watching.
Teacher must also make it clear that everyone other than Dracula must have their mouth remain closed s o nobody gets
confused.
Draculas aim is to kill as many people as possible before he is unmasked.
Van Helsings aim is to uncover Dracula before he has killed everyone else.
To kill Dracula Van Hels ign mus t either plunge an imaginary stake through Draculas heart or hold up crucifix up to him.
If van Helsing kills the wrong person, that person just keeps moving.
All players are then asked to start moving around the room and are reminded to keep their mouths closed so not to confuse
Van helping.
Once everyone understands the rules the teacher will then call in Van Hels ing to help locate Dracula.
Variations: The teacher can change the way the townspeople walked. (walk like zombies)
Instead of Dracula you could play the game by the same rules only it could be a wink murder instead of Dracula. They could
also use a handshake and press on the wrist to make the person fall.
