A donation of 5, 10 or 20 dollars, can make a big difference to this village and ensuring that people have a roof over their head… We are not advertising very publically for obvious reasons but we hope that we can build step by step. The Real Life of Elderly People in Rural Area Many Elderly people in Cambodia are living by themselves difficultly. As the matter of facts, during our visit in the village we saw grand mother Yang Lay were having lunch alone under her quite house. It was very sad and impossible to believe to see her having lunch, eating rice with coconut and salt which we have never seen and never thought that we could eat like that. While she was eating she looked at us and smiling at us to greet us which she didn’t know that we almost cry to see a such situation which we never seen since we were young. Though, she told us that she does have that kind food not very often but she continued that most of the time the food was not clean and does not have good test or vitamin. Their children and grand children are very busy with their farming and they don’t have time to take care them. On the other hand most of them are poor. her children and grandchildren are busy with their work.

Cambodia Retirement Village is in Phase 2

All your donation will go to where it is needed and help to develop our community

Having seen such difficulties our team brought some donations and gifts to the village and handed to some elderly people in the village. Our great grandfather Pin Hai is one of the poorest elderly people in the village. He doesn’t have family, a house and any piece of land for doing farming. He is 87 years old now. He is staying with his nephew’s house. His nephew is in a poor condition of support family as well. Thus, he has only one free bed under his house for him to live and feed him as his abilities. In order to reduce his difficulties, we brought some donation and gifts from our friends and

colleagues from (HRINC Cambodia) for him on 18th Sep 2009. The donations and gift such as: case 100, 000 Riel (US$25), three scarf, fish source 1 box (5 bottles), some cakes, some used clothes, 10Kg of rice and other daily products. As per our visits from house to house we noticed and having seen that the situation of elderly people in the village is similar. Great grand father Pen Yorn is 84 years old and he has only one eye. He is living with his wife who is very old as well. She is 81 years. They still do cooking and growing vegetable for themselves and look after each other. He continued voicelessly that sometime when they are not well they have to sleep without having meal. Great grand mother Yang Lay, great grand father Pin Hai, and great grand Pen Yorn as well as other elderly people strongly hope that there will be a center in the village so that they have a roof over their head, have food to eat and get basic medical care and look after them properly.

Again, we are raising funds to buy more construction materials to continue our project in phase 2. We are not advertising very publically for obvious reasons but we hope that we can build step by step. Phase 1 Phase 2 Phase 3 Phase 4 Land Construct Buildings Trees Income generating (Completed) In process Gardens For community Materials for house For sustainability expand project.
