Seabourn signs new orderUPMARKET small-ship cruise
line Seabourn has opted to ful lan exis ng contracted op onfrom Italian shipbuilding giantFincan eri for a second new ship.
The ultra-luxury vessel will bethe h in the lines eet and willo er capacity for 604 passengersin a double occupancy all-suitelayout, with the design to followthat of the Odyssey-class eet.
The op on comes as part of atwo-ship contract signed withFincan eri and announced a li leover a year ago ( CW 22 Oct 2013).
Seabourn president Richard DMeadows said there had beenconsiderable excitement since theannouncement for the rst ship.
Were very pleased thatthe demand for our brand hasallowed us to add a second newultra-luxury ship to our expanding
eet.These two new ships will

A HALLOWEEN themed cruisein the Bahamas earlier thismonth became a tad too scaryafter the ship made contact with
an underwater object, forcing anemergency evacuation.
The alarm sounded when theBahamas Celebration , operatedby Celebration Cruise Line,began tilting heavily port side,followed by a power blackout.
At rst you kind of thought,maybe this is a Halloweenjoke and this is supposed to befunny, one passenger remarked.
At the time of the incident, allof the passengers were dressedin their Halloween costumes andwere enjoying a zombie-themedonboard party.
The ship returned to port inGrand Bahamas Island, with paxput up in resorts while damageto the ship was assessed.
Celebration cancelled theremainder of the voyage,ferrying stranded passengersback to Miami the following day.
