1 INTRODUCTION Welcome to the CrowdStats user guide! This manual contains a brief introduction to the product specifications and all the information that you need to get started with your CrowdStats. It will guide you through the steps to properly install the software and make full use of your data visualization dashboard.

1.1 ABOUT CROWDSTATS Built on top of advanced Face Analysis Technology, CrowdStats offers an intelligent audience measurement solution that provides you with actionable insights on people count, viewer engagement, mood, gender and age-brackets of your audience.

CrowdStats comprise two components: the reporting client which locally gathers the face measurements; and a Cloud-based service for the data visualization. 1.2 REPORTING CLIENT CrowdStats Client is a cross-platform software program which is aimed to be installed and run locally in your chosen PC. The software must be used in combination with a camera sensor in order to detect and track your audience facial information. CrowdStats Client processes the camera data and translates it into meaningful audience analytics. The software settings allows you to make changes to the video frame and tracking area in order to adjust them to your scenario or computational requirements. It is key that setup requirements such as camera positioning and light conditions are met to ensure stable and accurate analysis. 1.3 USER INTERFACE The CrowdStats software processes the video streams and translates it into actionable audience insights, which are sent to a cloud-based platform. The reporting dashboard or user interface offers an in-depth video analytics overview of your audience’s behavior and interest towards stimuli at your target locations. This powerful visualization tool is accessible anywhere from a web-enabled device. Remotely monitor, manage and optimize your business in all your locations around the world at any time!

2 GETTING STARTED 2.1 INSTALLATION AND SETUP

Subscribe to CrowdStats at crowdstats.sightcorp.com by clicking on the Signup tab on the top-level menu. Simply fill up the registration form and follow the activation link that has been sent to you by email.

Once you login into the dashboard, you will be ready to create your first CrowdStats project. STEP 1 Fill up the project information, including the name, project description and the timezone your project is located on, and finally hit the Create button.

DASHABOARD OVERVIEW STEP 2 Once you have filled up the form, a message will pop up with your application key information and the download links for Windows and Mac OS X for the CrowdSight Toolkit. You will need to download the Toolkit and copy/paste your application key to the correspondent field under Output tab, to be able to get all data retrieved by the Toolkit delivered straight to your CrowdStats dashboard. For instructions on how to setup the Toolkit, please have a look at our dedicated Toolkit manual. STEP 3 Run the Toolkit on your application scenario for at least 15 minutes to guarantee stable and more robust results. Once you are done, access your CrowdStats dashboard to get to know your audience!

3 DASHBOARD OVERVIEW The data visualization dashboard allows you to manage and analyze your target locations anywhere, at any time. It enables you to spot the highs and lows of engagement and audience affluence in your multiple sites, and compare it by day, week or month and based on your audience demographic information. Simply access your online account and know your audience better! 4.1 SUMMARY PAGE Once you sign in to CrowdStats, you will land on the summary page which gives you a quick overview of the overall cameras/locations performance. Please note that the insights on this page are aggregated at the end of each day, which means that you are only able to visualize the data from previous dates. LEFT SIDE BAR Here you will find the general settings and information related to your project, such as project name, licensing key and number of active cameras. Click on the button “Go to dashboard” to access your daily, real-time reports! MAIN SECTION Easily visualize all the aggregated data about your audience. Refer to the Viewing Conversion graph to understand how many people viewed and engaged effectively with your content or brand. Identify how the conversion metric varies per age and gender group or understand which demographic profiles show higher attention level. Use the small arrow icons to quickly spot increases and decreases in terms of OTS and total viewers (bottom arrows) and in the overall attention time (top arrow) for each demographic group. As the image below shows, on February 8, 2017 there was a high conversion rate with 84% of the detected people looking towards the camera or stimuli. More specifically, out of 7890 faces analyzed, 6605 were converted into actual viewers. The average attention time was 21 seconds. The demographic graphs tell us that out of the total number of detected female faces (2040), 91% have looked at the content or stimuli (1853) or in other words, have been converted into viewers. From all detected subjects aged 50-59, 100% have looked at the point of interest.

4.2 DASHBOARD LEFT SIDE MENU Once you log in, you will find the configuration and general settings on the left side of the window, such as licensed, unconfigured and grouped cameras. Adding and grouping cameras You can add as many cameras as you need for your project by clicking on the orange-colored Plus button (+) on the top-left corner of your screen, next to the licensed cameras. To group your cameras per location or campaign, simply use the Add Group button. Click on the pencil icon next to Cameras to edit and delete them. TOP MENU BAR Age and Gender Simply click on an age/gender field to remove it from the analysis or to re-enable it. This way, you can closely track how your content or brand works for different demographic profiles! Time-based search Use the calendar icon to go through the data collected in different days, or visualize the analytics per day, week or month by clicking on the tabs right next to it.

AUDIENCE ANALYTICS The retrieved video analytics are classified into three different reporting groups so you can easily keep track of your data depending on your application scenario and interest.

CrowdCount (for analysis of passers-by) The Total Analysed Faces graph shows the number of detected people who passed by your camera, classified by gender and age group. The pie charts indicate that a total amount of 2109 people have passed by, being the majority male and within the 30-39 age bracket. The location “Live_demo” was the highest performer: within the total amount of people who were detected, 412 were male aged 30-39.

Use the Total Views graph to confirm how many people actually looked towards the camera. Identify which age and gender groups they belong to. As seen below, on the 8th of February a total amount of 1763 viewers have engaged with the brand across the different locations. Out of those 1763, the 322 viewers who have looked towards the “Live_demo” were male and aged between 30-39 years old.

The Opportunity-to-View metric shows the number of people who passed in front of the camera and that were likely to see your ad content or brand. The data is given per time, so you can know which periods of the day are more popular and offer higher opportunities for your brand to be seen. The graph below reveals that on February 8 at 10:30h, a total number of 74 people have passed in front of the cameras and were potentially exposed to the brand. The camera “Live_demo” was the highest performer. Use the Total Views graph to understand how many people looked towards the camera per time of the day. This way, you will be able to identify which periods of the day your products or content get better performance, and adjust ads and campaign costs according to that. As the graph below shows, at 12h a total of 74 people have looked in the direction of the cameras. Out of those, 34 have engaged with the “live demo”.

CrowdHapinness (for analysis of stationary crowds) The Customer Satisfaction graph shows you the average emotional state of the total number of people in front of the camera, by time of the day. The minimum percentage value is 0 and represents neutral mood, and the maximum percentage is 100 for very positive mood. The screenshot below indicates that from the total number of people that passed in front of the live demo camera at 16:10h, the average mood was of 30.21% or in other words, people were in average happy.

The Attention Time graph is the audience metric you can rely on to understand which times of the day work better for you and offer more opportunities for your brand, content or product to be seen! Visualize the amount of time your viewers looked at the camera per time of the day and identify the peaks or lows of attention. The graph below shows that at 14:30h, the viewing time was of 0:26:24 for the total amount of viewers. The location “Live_demo” sparked the highest interest with the overall viewers interacting with the stimuli for a total of10 minutes.

The location graph offers a comprehensive overview of how your cameras perform in different locations. Zoom in to a specific camera to identify which color is dominant in the center point of the multiple circle element. This color represents the prevailing results for that specific location, per analytic metric. For instance, a red-colored center for the mood information would mean that in a specific location the happiness emotion would be the most predominant for that day or specific time-window.

SPREADSHEET DATA REPRESENTATION CrowdStats allows you to export the visual audience analytics displayed on your dashboard into a spreadsheet or .CSV file, so you can easily manage and manipulate the data the way you want. Simply click on the Cloud Export Button located on the right-upper side of each graph to download the file. You can also export and download the overall aggregated data of the day or week into a spreadsheet file, by clicking on the Cloud Export button located on the right-corner of the top navigation menu.
