Examples of GeographicDANUBE FAB Projects:
FABs are trying to answer thequestion:
“What can I do with my neighbour?”
Neighbouring states already sharemany interests through geographicalproximity, eg:

The most tangible internal projects todate within DANUBE FAB havecapitalised on this basic question.

Cross Border Sectors EstablishmentOverview

Airspace is usually arranged according to nationalboundaries, with one ANSP operating exclusivelywithin each State’s territory
These politically defined borders aregeographically complex and do not take intoaccount air traffic flows, potentially causinginefficiencies in flight routes
Cross-border Sectors (CBS) offer a solution to thisproblem, by redrawing airspace boundaries basedon operational needs of the air traffic, rather thanfollowing the contours of a national border
Based on operational needs, a dedicated TaskForce analysed the common geographicalinterface for any inconsistencies that wouldrequire implementation of CBS and, though nomajor issues were found, areas for improvementwere identified
The Task Force has worked to define thegeographical boundaries of the CBS, taking intoaccount the operational aspects and routenetwork improvements
