An  emerging  defini,on  

 Cri>cal  Apprecia>ve  Inquiry  is    steeped  in  the  principles,  theory    and  prac>ce  of  AI  and  adds  to  that  the  recogni>on  that  in  some  inquiries  aLen>on  must  be  paid  to  whether  the  experience  “aims  to  help  bring  about  a  society  of  freedom  and  jus>ce”  (The  Power  of  Cri>cal  Theory.  Brookfield,  2005,  p.  8).  In  par>cular,  this  model  is  useful  when  approaching  inquires  that  have  audiences,  issues  and/or  circumstances  where  social  jus>ce  is  a  cri>cal  aspect.
