September is recognized as National
Preparedness Month (NPM)! This serves
as a reminder that we all must take
action to prepare, now and
throughout the year, for the types of
emergencies that could affect where
we live, work, and also where we visit.
National Preparedness Month started
on 9/1. There are many different re-
sources that are available for every-
one to use to help teach the commu-
nity to be as prepared as possible.
Join the CDC, the Red Cross , FEMA,
Ready.gov, and the OEM at KSU as we
prepare for this month of awareness!

edness Month! More info on page 3.

On August 31st, 2016,
President Obama pro-
claimed September as
National Preparedness
Month so that communi-
ties all over the national
could celebrate our Na-
tion’s spirit of resilience
by rededicating our-
selves to the important
task of being prepared
in the face of any crisis.
On September 30, peo-
ple from cities and
towns in all corners of
our Nation will join with
the Federal Government
to take action as part of
America's PrepareAthon!
This month is all about
making the public aware
of how they can better
prepare themselves for
an array of different dis-
asters that have in-
creased over the years.
When emergencies hap-
pen this Nation must
ensure that communi-
ties have the support
and resources they need
to respond and recover.
This movement is spon-
sored by the U.S Depart-
ment of Homeland Secu-
rity and supported by
many different agencies,
such as FEMA and
Ready.gov.
